Year-Round Emergency Services
Monetary assistance upon availability for any family emergency which may arise such as rental assistance, utility assistance and DMV fees. Food, personal care items and clothes are always available at no cost to our clients.
Holiday Assistance
Food basket distribution is provided two times each year - during Easter and Thanksgiving. We serve over 250 families during these holidays. In addition, close to 200 families are adopted at Christmas and over 3,000 toys are distributed each year to the needy.
Judy’s Kitchen
Hot meals are served at no cost, family-style, the third Saturday of the month at the Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Los Alamitos.
Healthcare
The annual Health Fair is held each year for children and families in the community. Free immunizations, mini-dental check-ups, fingerprinting and education materials are available to all in attendance. Back-to-school materials are offered free to children while supplies last.
WE CARE assistance is also provided for filling out Medi-Cal and Healthy Families applications. Certified technicians are available to walk our clients through what can be a complicated process.
Case Management
Full-time case management is available to assist individuals in defining their goals and maximizing their true potential.
Court Approved Counseling
Court approved Anger Management classes, parenting classes and individual counseling services are provided. In addition several support groups gather at WE CARE regularly. Included groups are Narcotics Anonymous, Co-Dependency Group and Relapse Prevention Support Group.
Referral Services
WE CARE provides lists of additional resources that clients can access such as local social service agencies, shelters, medical services, legal services, job referrals and more.
Heart Of The City
Mass food distribution and Portable Pantry are held the 2nd and 3rd Saturday, monthly.
